Microsoft Creates Something Cool

Okay first off I have to say that I'm not always the biggest fan of Microsoft, well lets say it like this I like Microsoft but I think there products can be what I refer to 'Bloatwear' where I think there code just isn't the cleanest. But Microsoft has done it by creating Windows Live Writer, in fact that is what I'm using right now for this entry. Who would have though Microsoft supporting something that isn't there's and it was very easy. So fellow bloggers I would suggest taking a look at Windows Live Writer part of the MSN Live pack and make blogging easy again.

Obituary for Mr. Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.

Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and Reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate!; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do nothing.

How Plastic is Your Jesus?

Life is filled with picture perfect people. Sometimes what appears to be perfect on outside is very different then what is on the inside. Living in the Christian Suburban neighborhood - the Christian Suburban workplace, the Christian Suburban Church - everything is so perfect.

What once was a relationship with God has become a "Lifestyle". Is this what God has for us? What have you surrounded yourself with instead of God? David Brooks writes: "the typical Disneyland American has been concerned with small and meaningless pleasures, pointless and easy self serving values. They have become too permissive and too open minded, too self indulgent and too timid. They are caught up in trivial images, relentless hurry, information gathering and superficial choices."

We call ourselves a Christian - but how can we be so hollow on the inside? Is it possible to show up on Sunday with a smile - attend a service, get into our trendy car with a Christian Fish sticker and get loss in the process?

Southern California - the land of the Mega Churches / Christian Lifestyle, Robert Schullers, Saddleback / Rick Warren, Calvary Chapels etc. Regardless of the Christian format - God is moving in Southern California - but the superficial facade is never more present - are people just attending church - or are they there to worship God? We experienced it - most are just attending church.

When we live in Christian Suburbia, we let our things define us. We place great value in things and we hope that they will fulfill our desire for meaning and significance. Our identities can also be formed by others - and sometimes in our lives a casual meaningless comment can lead to deceit and destruction.

This represents the PLASTIC JESUS - Take a reality check - is your relationship with Christ worth dying for?

Mark 1:9 - 11 (Message Bible)
We live in a world that is performance driven - and sometimes we are caught asking ourselves - " why does God love me ? " The Father's total love for Jesus wasn't based on performance - it was based on a relationship – that is the same for a child of God.

Our value is based on who we belong to - when we live in Christian Suburbia - we are trying to earn the Father's affections and become worthy - STOP IT. He already loves you - just because of who you are. What would happen if we choose a committed relationship with God ?
What would happen if in our commitment - God would release his Holy Spirit and divine
blessings upon us? I encourage you to stop and listen

Jeremiah 6:16 " Stand at the crossroads and look - ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it and you will find rest for your soul."

Crazy Times

Ok, Okay I know I have had this one video about the internet band up for a long time and have had people ask me, Jeremy when are you going to update your blogspot. Guess what, THIS IS THE UPDATE!!! Let's see first I am now engaged to a very lovely woman named Lisa, which this all transpired on Christmas day. Mind you that this is her favorite day out of the entire year. Lisa and I meet September 24, 2006 at a Barns & Noble and ended up leaving there because there wasn't anyplace to sit down and have a coffee at Starbucks. I ended up taking her in my jeep up to Guanella Pass and stopping in the little town of Idaho Springs for dinner. Well we hit it off right from the start and it's been bliss ever since then.

Writers Block

Okay do you ever have one of those times where you don't know anything to write, like writers block. Well at this moment I'm wriding on a stationary bike while typing this message and today I gave my car up to get it fixed. On another subject I have to say that I'm reading the Left Behind series which I'm on the 10th book. Today I'm at the Intel Premier IT Professional Seminar, there are great things that I'm going to be able to implment, like I'm looking forward to the new Intel Pentium V Pro chips which for a IT standpoint will be a great thing. Okay if you are looking at this poasting and going it doesn't look like you don't anything to say and all of the sudden you do. Well this post is a post that has been going on for a few weeks on my phone.

You Know Your A 90's Kid

*if you've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"
*if you just cant resist finishing this... "Iiiiiiin west philladelphia born and raised..."
*if you remember TGIF on ABC. Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World
*if you got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school
*if you remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books
*if you still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...
*if you used to listen to the radio all day long just to record (ON A TAPE PLAYER)"Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"
*if you wonder "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?"
*if you remember when super nintendo's and Sega Genisis WERE WHAT DREAMS WERE MADE OF!
*if you wrote M.A.S.H. notes. (and the twenty different versions of that)
*if you knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"
*if you played and/or collected "Pogs"
*if you haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet
*if you had a favorite New Kid on the block, and you knew all of their names
*if you know the significance of the number 23
*if you know what an original walkman is
*if you remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch
*if you always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

When we were younger:
Before the MySpace frenzy...
Before the Internet & text messaging...
Before Sidekicks & iPods...
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...
Before Spongebob...
When light up sneakers were cool...
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs...
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing...
When we recorded stuff on VCRs, not TIVO...
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans...
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever...
Way back...
When it was all about N64...
Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

My Weekend

First of all this my first time doing this. I now found a program that I can use on my phone to make updates. So I'm just learning this software.

Last weekend I have to say was an awesome weekend for me. Saturday morning I was waffling wether or not I wanted to do it. I went so far as to tell Craig that I couldn't do it for other reasons. After a while I decided to do it. I think that was the best choice that I could make. Getting to the first sound gig was in between 30th and 31st and Downing. It was interesting because they had some ideas what they want to do but nothing set in stone. Since we're doing it outside and it's been raining they streched a big 40' x 60' tarp that almost covered the entire street, this did cover the stage fairly well but being that this tarp was so big it had a problem with wind. So much that it riped off, thank goodness that it didn't rain at that time, but it did rain around 3pm, this worked out great because Craig had a friend who is in the band '1964 The Tribute' and they were playing at Red Rocks

How a Man Cleans A Toilet

The Sox Are Back

Okay from the last post that I did of the late post, Socks is back. A long story short I was late to work one day and there was more light out and I saw a picture of a cat on a lamp post saying cat found. Well being that It was early in the morning it took me fifteen seconds to realize that I think it's my cat. I ended up doing a u-turn back to the picture and sure enough it was. I don't know what happened to him because he is so not his old self.

The Remembrance of God’s Beauty

Going through my pictures that I have taken over the past few weeks I ran into this one picture. This picture first of all was the first time that I have ever got the water to flow like it is. But there is so much more behind this picture. First being out in nature and not hearing sounds of horns, police cars, telephones, just the natural sound of nature. Sometime we just need to get away from it all and find our happy place. Mine happens to be the great big Rocky Mountains.

The Late Sox

It sucks, it really, really sucks. I have to say that I have a world record for losing cats, well this one was only 7 months old. His name was Sox or if I was mad Soux (Sucks) The last time he was seen was the day before my birthday. This cat or kitten was the biggest, rambunctious ball of fur that there was. He knew how to drive anyone insane, but at the same time he was a very loving cat. I will certainly miss him. Here he is in his favorite place... The Sink

First Time Doing This

Well hello to all who are board enough to find this Blog. My name is Jeremy but like to go by the name of Volkswigger. I'm kinda attached to that name as it was a name of my cat and I drive a VW Jetta. I also have a German background to me. But enough about that. Welcome
